A Year of Awards and Achievements
Over the past year, Immobileyes has received numerous awards and achievements that validate the potential of the laser storm technology that is currently in development. Immobileyes offers an unprecedented ability to deliver non-lethal intervention to temporality impair an offender’s visual perception. Immobileyes creates this temporary visual overload by utilizing hundreds of low power and eye-safe laser beams in order to secure areas from intruders and buy police time in dangerous situations.
In addition to the Air Force and USCENTCOM validating the need for this technology, Immobileyes has also received support by completing the NSF I-Corps program, receiving the Tech Connect Defense Innovation award, receiving DoD funding trough Ohio state’s CDME, winning the Morgenthaler-Pavey Startup Competition and being chosen for Dayton’s new defense accelerator cohort.
February 2021: Awarded $25,00 from the Morgenthaler-Pavey Startup Competition:
Immobileyes was selected as the 2021 Morgenthaler-Pavey Startup Competition winner. Participating companies pitched in front of an audience of entrepreneurs, mentors and investors on February 4th. The competition was created to support high-potential startup companies whose founding teams include a Case Western Reserve University alum.
January 2021: Chosen for Dayton’s New Defense Accelerator Cohort:
Immobileyes was chosen as one of eight Ohio companies to participate in The Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) Defense Accelerator. The program, managed by Launch Dayton partners Parallax Advanced Research and the Entrepreneur Center, helps participating startups identify uses for their technologies, move their products to market and generate revenue and support.
December 2020: Awarded $50K in DoD funding through Ohio State University’s Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME)
The Immobileyes technology was awarded $50,000 of engineering and equipment time from DoD’s Supply Base Resilience & Diversification Program to develop a miniaturized prototype for Unmanned Arial System (UAS) applications. Each submission underwent rigorous review by engineers from The Ohio State University’s CDME and representatives from the Department of Defense. Immobileyes was selected as one of the new technologies to receive funded technical support from CDME.
October 2020: 2020 TechConnect Defense Innovation Award
The annual TechConnect Defense Innovation Awards recognize the top 15% of submitted technologies as ranked by the Selection Committee. This Innovation Prospecting program is designed specifically to deliver private-sector early-stage technologies to the DoD in support of the warfighter. Immobileyes was selected as one of the early-stage technologies that can positively impact national security.
August 2020: Wins scholarship to compete in GDI partners TRIAD event
Immobileyes recently won an Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP) scholarship to participate in GDI Partners TRIAD event. At the TRIAD events, Immobileyes pitched their innovation to U.S. Combatant Commands Science & Technology Scouts who help find solutions to problems faced by U.S. Warfighters.
April 2020: Completed NSF I-Corps Program
The I-Corps Sites Program provides business training and grants interested in assessing the commercial viability of their science, technology, engineering and mathematics based technologies. Immobileyes was selected as the University of Delaware’s cohort, and completed the I-Coprs program run by the NSF in April 2020. This program introduced Immobileyes to the Lean Startup methodology through a series of four workshops that aided in customer discovery research and problem validation.
